Night Library continues in January

The Night Library opened for the first week already in December, and in January, students can study at the library until midnight for three weeks.

Studying late into the night remains popular among students during the exam period. “Since many assessments in various courses took place in December, we decided, in collaboration with the Student Union, to organize one Night Library week during that time,” said Olga Einasto, head of the service department, adding that the main weeks are still scheduled for January.

To offer some variety during exam preparation, the library also provides other activities. The awaited therapy dogs from the Estonian Association of Assistance and Therapy Dogs will visit every Tuesday at 6 PM. For a break from studying, students can join stretching exercises on Mondays and Thursdays at 9 PM in the third-floor sports room, guided by Christiana Sammal.

“Our library staff have also discovered a fun relaxation method—juggling,” said Einasto. “We searched for an activity that would be both smart and beneficial for cognitive functioning, and we found that juggling is a great way to refresh the brain and train focus. During Night Library, we invite all students to give it a try.” Juggling balls and instructions are available at the third-floor service desk, and library staff will also provide guidance for juggling enthusiasts on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 PM in the sports hall.

On two days, January 14 and 23, at 5 PM, psychologists from the University Counseling Center will be available in the second-floor reading room to advise anyone seeking help with exam stress or study-related challenges.

The Night Library will be open until 24 January: from Monday till Friday the library is open until midnight, on Saturdays and Sundays 12-18.
